Procurement Specialist - Temporary 12 Months Contract

LANXESS UK is currently seeking a strong, motivated and talented individuals with the appropriate experience for the position of Procurement Specialist- Temporary 12 Months Contract.

Location: LANXESS UK, Trafford Park, Manchester.

Primary responsibility:

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the GPL UK team with tasks from different areas (e.g., indirects, site procurement, transportation/warehousing procurement).

Key Responsibilities:

• Working in collaboration with the Strategic Buying team provide support to develop and execute commercial sourcing strategies balancing cost, quality and risk.
• Support the preparation of RFIs/RFQs, supplier appraisal and selection, negotiation and contract.
• Focus will be supporting different categories with particular emphasis on Indirects but will be expected to work flexibly across categories to maximise value to Lanxess.
• Work cross-functionally with other parts of the business.
• With the support of the Strategic Buyers, confidently deal with difficult conversations and negotiations with suppliers and stakeholders alike.

Education/Experience:

• Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred; CIPS level 4 preferred but not essential
• Generalist indirect procurement experience across as broad a spend as possible and being able to work autonomously.
• 3-5 years’ professional experience
• ERP system experience (SAP + similar) - processing purchase orders
• Project Management Experience would be an advantage
• Excellent team working and communication skills to be able to work collaboratively in an international corporate environment with interfaces at LANXESS group and local UK level
• Strong analytical, conceptual and presentation skills
• Networking skills to manage multiple interfaces
