LANXESS Italy is seeking a strong, motivated and talented individuals for the position of:

Process Control Technology Engineering Manager.

Business UNIT: Lubricant Additives (LAB)

Location: Italy, Latina

Purpose of the role:

PCT-Engineering Manager is responsible for all compliance issues concerning PCT of Latina site such as HAZOPs, plant safety and security checks (electrical/PCT-part), documentation due to law and regulations, expert for electrical/instrumentation/automation safety according to CEI regulations, in addition is responsible for all PCT-installations and instruments, DCS (Distributed Control Systems), SIS (Safety Integrated Systems).

Main Responsibilities:

  • responsible for the implementation and maintenance of control strategies in the DCS system as well SIS system
  • responsible for the proper and safe technical installation of all PCT facilities of Latina plant
  • takes care about statutory, regulatory and LANXESS internal requirements for PCT within his responsibility area
  • initiates or carries out appropriate monitoring, controls, hazard analyzes and safety checks
  • contributes to the preparation and implementation of investment projects in his company and controls internal and external departments/technical suppliers
  • develops economic concepts to keep plant reliability and availability of all PCT facilities at high level
  • promotes the continuous improvement process according to UNI EN ISO 9001/14001/45001

Employees at the site 150 + approx. 60 contractors.

Approx. 1500 PCT loops, Honeywell EPKS DCS (Distributed Control Systems), Siemens PCS 7 SIS (Safety Integrated Systems), Batch recipes on DCS, complex technology like Thermo Oxidizer, PLC systems (Siemens, Rockwell, Omron), high requirement concerning reliability and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), legal requirements due to National regulations, high explosion protection requirements (ATEX classified areas).

The role is highly contributory to manage legal requirements and growing projects for the site.

 

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience :

  • Electronic Engineering Master Degree
  • 3- 5 years relevant professional experience, Electronic and, preferred, Automation Engineering background.
  • Work experience in PCT, control of process and automation systems.
  • Continuous Improvement orientation.
  • Strong technical and interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Engineering knowledge to comply technical regulations.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others, to be part of a team.
  • Proven leadership: provide leadership to meet and exceed goals and objectives, educate and develop skills in other.
  • Fact-based analysis, planning, reporting and presentation skills.
  • Influence others: asserts own ideas and persuade others, gain support, mobilize people take action.
  • Knowledge of MS Office software packages, SAP and , preferred, Lean, Six Sigma, Best/Class criteria.
  • Fluent communication in English. German is of advantage.
