LANXESS UK is currently seeking a strong, motivated and talented individuals with the appropriate experience for the position of Maintenance Superintendent Mechanical.

Location: UK, Trafford Park, Manchester. 

Primary responsibility:

The primary responsibility of this role is to plan, organise and deploy craft resources to provide Mechanical Engineering support to upper tier COMAH manufacturing site.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the craft team and ensure that the craft team members are competent to perform required tasks on the site.
  • Ensure that there are sufficient craft personnel with knowledge, skills, abilities and motivation to provide a safe, cost effective, and high quality service.
  • Develop detailed work plans for activities to be scheduled covering predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Evaluate task Risk Assessments and decide whether they are suitable and sufficient to create a Permit To Work.
  • Write and issue Permits.
  • Ensure that the tasks conducted by the team are co-ordinated to optimise the delivery of planned and reactive engineering support.
  • Ensure engineering records are maintained and updated for both paper and SAP systems, for example example statutory inspections.
  • Act as deputy for other Superintendents.

 

Requirements

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • 3- 5 years of professional experience, Craft Apprenticeship plus HNC
  • Strong experience in delivering high quality customer service programs, project management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities including motivating teams, employee development, and being results oriented
  • Strong people skills, including the capability to handle various personalities and develop professional relationships
  • Action oriented, with the drive to push projects and tasks to successful closure
  • Proven ability of being customer centric by seeking solutions from the customer’s perspective
  • Strong verbal & written communication, with the ability to take complex concepts and communicate accurately and persuasively
  • Strong ability to work within a team-setting, inclusive of other’s ideas, and a willingness to cooperate
  • Makes quick and accurate decisions based heavily on facts, data and/or metrics
